The WeddingWith all the hype of having a big wedding, it came as a surprise to many when Jazz & I decided to escape to the Acorn Bed & Breakfast two days after Thanksgiving to say our vows. We had been planning a big wedding for all of our family and friends to meet and celebrate with us, but with health struggles and embarking on the move to Seattle, we found relief from much stress by choosing to keep it small. At the time we were engaged, long distant, and frustrated with our situation. We couldn't figure out how to close the distance soon enough along with planning a big wedding and a move. That's when we decided to elope. Jazz was planning on flying down in two weeks for Thanksgiving. What if we got married then? With much prayer and talking, we decided to do it. We agreed that if everything that we wanted fell into place, then it was a go. We talked with our parents and Jazz's mom and dad were able to purchase plane tickets to fly down on the day we had planned. I found a dress on Poshmark for $120. The perfect dress. The Acorn Bed & Breakfast offered an elopement package for four as well as hosting a small reception of cake and a toast afterward. My dad and brother kidknapped Jazz for the night before with plans of a night at a hotel complete with snacks and video games. My mom and I stayed at home reveiwing the final checklist and munching Oreos before getting a good night of sleep. The next morning came quickly. We brought our dresses and make-up bags to the Bed & Breakfast house where we got dressed. And when we were ready, I stepped outside into the lovely, garden backyard and married the love of my life.
